The Vaults and Garden Café occupies a unique position on Radcliffe Square at the heart of mediaeval Oxford, beneath the majestic Church of St Mary the Virgin. It looks out towards the Radcliffe Camera, part of the historic Bodleian Library, with Brasenose College to the left and All Souls College to the right.
The café is located in the Old Congregation House of the University, which provides the main seating area. Above is the Old Library, the original University library, which now offers a remarkable setting for special events such as dinners and receptions.
Additional seating space lies outside in the gardens of the University Church, a green oasis in the heart of the city which furnishes our kitchen with the aromatic flavours of fresh rosemary, thyme, marjoram, mint and sage.
